Entry & Documents

Your passport must be valid for your whole stay; we recommend at least 6 months of validity.
Most visitors from the US, Canada and Europe do not need a visa for tourism. Check your nationality before booking.
Immigration may ask for your return or onward ticket and proof of funds (around US$500).
We strongly recommend travel insurance with medical coverage.

Money & Essentials

Panama uses the US dollar. Cards are accepted in the city; bring cash for towns like Pedasí and Cambutal.
Plugs and voltage are the same as the US (110V, type A/B).
Tipping: 10% is customary in restaurants; check if it is already included.
Spanish is the local language; English is common in tourism and in Panama City.

Weather & Packing

Dry season: mid-December to April. Green season: May to November, with afternoon showers.
Average temperatures stay warm all year, around 27–32 °C (80–90 °F).
Pack light clothing, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.
Bring insect repellent and a light rain jacket, especially in green season.

By Car or by Plane

Pedasí and Cambutal are on the Azuero Peninsula. Plan your flights with these details so your transfer runs smoothly.

Plan your arrival before 12:00 pm

Land at Tocumen International Airport (PTY) in the morning, before 12:00 pm, or arrive the day before.
Transfers and domestic flights leave at set times in the morning, and domestic flights do not operate every day.
Arriving in the afternoon or evening? Plan one night in Panama City (not included). We can book it for you.
For your return, book your flight home for the afternoon or evening, or plan a last night in Panama City.
Send us your flight details before buying non-refundable tickets, and we'll confirm they work with your transfer.

Fastest

By Plane

Domestic flight from Panama City to the Azuero region: [departure airport → arrival airport].
Flights depart in the morning, before 12:00 pm, and do not fly every day. Check the schedule before you buy your international tickets.

By Road

About 5 hours from Panama City to Pedasí, and about 6 hours to Cambutal.
Luggage, fishing gear and surfboards are included (boards travel on the roof racks).
Children under 4 need a car seat. Request it when booking or bring your own; children cannot ride without one.
We confirm your exact pick-up time the day before travel. Please be ready 5 minutes early; drivers keep a tight schedule.

Renting a Car

Logistics PackageYou can rent a car and drive on your own. Allow about 5 hours, drive in daylight and keep cash for stops along the way. Your home driver's license is valid for up to 90 days.
